I got a ticket because of turning right on a red-light about one year ago. I didn't know that I can take the traffic school when I paid the ticket. Because I was a new resident from Iran to US last year at that time. I didn't know the traffic school rules. How long the yellow light stays yellow before turning red

While reading your very informative traffic school course I came across a section I have a question about. I would like to know how long the amber light stays amber before turning red. I was taught in a classroom traffic school that amber lights remain for one second for every 10 miles per hour posted for road of travel. Is this still the rule/law in California?
