Paid my ticket and I did not go to court to fight it
- question from 9/23/2020 by Quintin, filed under Approved Traffic Violator School and Fight Traffic Ticket
Can I still take the traffic school so it won’t show on my DMV record?
I received a speeding ticket in San Luis Obispo. I paid my ticket already 6 months ago and did not go to court and fight it. Can I still take the traffic school so it won’t show on my DMV record?
Unfortunately, you cannot take traffic school to remove points or tickets currently on your driving record. The case must be open and approved for traffic school by the court where your ticket is filed. You can try contacting the court to request to reopen your case. If approved, you will need to pay the required administrative fee and the court will assign you a traffic school due date.
Once you complete traffic school and the court has processed your certificate with the DMV, then the point would be removed and your driving record gets updated.
Hope this helps, but please let us know if you have any further questions.
