I would like to use this service again as it was easy to navigate and fast at sending the results to the court

- question from 2/9/2020 by Kayla, filed under 18 months and 2 Tickets

Can I take traffic school again even though I took it just last year for a different ticket?

I completed the course in November of 20** for a ticket I got in August in Solano County. I got another ticket in September of the same year and the court is allowing me to attend traffic school again. However, your course is still showing my old course from November. Is there anyway it can be reset?

I would like to use this service again as it was easy to navigate and fast at sending the results to the courthouse. Thanks. Says

Hello Kayla-

If you are attempting to register again with the same email address in a short time, then our system is set up to help avoid another registration since you are likely not eligible for traffic school again.

Unfortunately, you would not be eligible for traffic school for your second ticket and a point for the citation will be on your driving record for 3 years. The DMV only allows you to take traffic school once every 18 months which is calculated from the violation dates. The courts also have a disclaimer about this advising you to only pay the admin fee if you have not taken traffic school for a prior ticket issued within 18 months. Even if you take traffic school and the court dismisses the case in their system for the second ticket; the DMV will not remove the point since traffic school has already been applied to the first ticket.

Court Disclaimer: You CANNOT go to traffic school for:
• Equipment offenses
• Non-moving offenses (like parking offenses)
• Misdemeanors
• Offenses with a mandatory court appearance
• Alcohol- or drug-related offenses
• Offenses in a commercial vehicle

You are also NOT eligible for traffic school if you have gone to traffic school for another ticket that you got in the last 18 months. There are other reasons you may not be eligible for traffic school. For more information on eligibility for traffic school, see the California Rules of Court, rule 4.104.

Please let us know if you have any further questions. Have a good day from #E1393.
