Try contacting the court to request to reopen your traffic school case

I paid the traffic ticket with the court but never requested traffic school, now my driving record is ruined.

Hi,

I received a speeding ticket in California back in March of last year. I paid the traffic ticket with the court but never requested traffic school and as a result I now have to pay an extra $150 for my car insurance every month.

AAA insurance told me to go to traffic school to have the point removed from my driving record.

My question is it too late for me to take online traffic school? Will my ticket be cleared? Thank you!

Hello Chenghao-

Unfortunately, you cannot take traffic school to remove points or tickets currently on your driving record. The case must be open and approved for traffic school by the court where your ticket is filed.

You can try contacting the court to request to reopen your case. If approved, you will need to pay the required fees and the court will assign you a traffic school due date. Once you complete traffic school and the court has processed your certificate with the DMV, then the point would be removed and your driving record gets updated.
