Sign Up with Out of State Driver License

How do I sign up for the CA course with an AZ driver license?
I am an Arizona resident but have a ticket in CA. While registering to the CA course, I am getting the error that my DL number does not have a valid CA format which is 1 Letter followed by 7 numbers. My AZ DL has 8 numbers. How do I register for the course?

Thank you for your email. If you are registering for the California traffic school course, then our system will automatically have the license state set to California by default. Please make sure you change the "License State" to Arizona on the drop-down menu in order to register for the course:
