Riverside Traffic School Guidelines
Got a ticket in Riverside? Don't want it to ruin your driving record and cause your insurance rates to skyrocket? Then completing a traffic violator school program is the recommended solution for keeping your traffic ticket infraction from appearing on your DMV record.
Three things to keep in mind when you get a traffic ticket in Riverside:
- Read the front and back of your traffic citation carefully. On your citation you will find the citation #, the due date, instructions on how to handle your ticket, and which Riverside County Traffic Court your ticket is assigned to.
- If you are eligible for traffic school, you can request traffic school one of four ways: via the internet, on the phone, by mail, or in person. Requesting traffic school online is the easiest and quickest way to get started with your traffic school violator program. When you request traffic school, the court will charge you your ticket bail amount and any admin fees required.
- After you have been qualified for traffic school, you may elect to take traffic school online or in a classroom setting. Taking your traffic school program online is the more convenient options and allows you to fulfill your obligations without leaving home. About Red Light Camera Citations
Red light camera tickets are issued to the registered owner of the vehicle as reported by the CADMV. The traffic citations are issued by a Riverside County law enforcement agency and are sent to your home address. The law enforcement agency will assign your court date at the time the citation is issued.
Traffic School Qualification Requirements
Though the vast majority of tickets can be dismissed with traffic school, there are some situations that do not allow for traffic school to be taken.
Traffic matters that involve misdemeanor violations like driving under the influence, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license are criminal matters and cannot be fixed with traffic school.
Also, drivers who are commercially licensed or who were driving a commercial vehicle cannot take traffic school. If you have already taken traffic school within the past 18 months to dismiss a ticket, then you can't retake traffic school for a 2nd violation.
If your speeding ticket is for 25mph or more over the speed limit, the court will not grant traffic school. If you have any outstanding court fees, failed to appear in court and owe court fines, or have violated any other
traffic school rules, you are not eligible for traffic school either.
