About Pima County Defensive Driving
In Pima, it is the job of the Arizona Supreme Court to certify the defensive driving schools that may participate in offering online defensive driving programs. TrafficSchool.com, in conjunction with ArizonaDriver.com proudly offers a high quality Arizona Supreme Court Approved Defensive Driving Program for Ticket Dismissal and Point Reduction.
If you received a civil traffic violation within Pima County limits, you are most likely eligible to take a defensive driving class and have the violation dismissed. You are eligible as long as you are not a commercial driver holding a CDL, did not kill or injure another person during the citation in question, have not gone to defensive driving school in the last 2 years, and are not a minor (juvenile). If you choose the online defensive driving option, and are eligible to do so, your violation will not be included on your MVD driving record and points will not be added or shown on your AZ driver's license. For a complete list of all eligible citations for dismissal violations, please visit the AOC website.
Please note: If you have received an AZ DPS photo enforcement "notice of violation", your traffic ticket cannot be dismissed by attending defensive driving school online, in classroom defensive driving or otherwise.

Civil Traffic Violation Defined
A civil traffic moving violation is a violation that results from the operation of a motor vehicle. Example of moving violations include speeding, failure to yield, unsafe lane changes, turning violations, and many, many more. Major violations like Driving Under the Influence (DUI), reckless driving, or other criminal moving violations are NOT eligible for dismissal via defensive driving school.
Your traffic citation has a check box by each moving violation that informs you whether it is criminal or civil violation.
If you qualify for defensive driving school, you may only take it for ONE eligible traffic violation. For violations beyond the first violation, drivers must appear in traffic court, request a court hearing or pay fines and fees prior to the appearance date on the traffic ticket.
